John Gillen and Jane Allen have carefully selected a team of dedicated individuals, passionate about recovery and the 87% success rate Affinity Lodge achieves with its philosophy. The professional team includes our psychiatrist, with whom an initial consultation may be necessary, to evaluate and diagnose any co-occuring disorders. During your stay our psychiatrist is available for on-going assesments.
Our treatment programmes are flexible and are tailored to each individuals needs. Length of stay is determined by the clients requirements and range from our 10 day Rapid Detox, to the Rapid Recovery 28 day programme.
Those with anxiety, depression, PTSD, adrenal fatigue, eating, gambling and other compulsive/stress disorders, may not require a detox and therefore choose anything inbetween, as may others choose a longer length of stay. Recovery is an on-going process, many of our clients return for a de-stress weekend. Our Aftercare ensures the information you acquired whilst with us continues to help you change old patterns of behaviour, as you develop and grow into your personal new self.
Detoxification: Your choice.
This may be gradual and managed medically, with a perscribed substitute for your drug-of-choice to reduce withdrawal symptoms.

With over 30 UNIQUE WORKSHOPS it is difficult to describe a typical day. Whilst the basics are covered, each day will present inspiring new thoughts and feelings. Sometimes challenging, always structured for emotional growth and behavioural change.
Un-learning then re-learning to become an 'adjusted' you, takes time. Simplisticly we have 3 Stages at Affinity Lodge to start your personal recovery.
A Typical Day:
Monday-Fridays (Weekends are flexible for visiting, with relaxation being the priority.)
Your day starts with Breakfast (from 8am) with Morning Reflection at 9am. There are usually 2 main workshops a day, one before and one after lunch at 1pm. Dinner is at 6.30pm. Evening Reflection is at 8pm. There is free time for self-reflection, other activities, or going out (supervised at first).

One to One Sessions:
Jane Allen and John Gillen have a wealth of Knowledge and experience, which is translated to your recovery at a personal level.
With the majority of our staff in recovery themselves, from diverse circumstances, with different personalities and perspectives, someone is always available to have a one-to-one when you need it most: in the moment you experience distress.
The 3 Stages:
Stage 1: Detox, if required. Initial settling-in depends on individual. Groups are not compulsary. Feeling 'at home' in your new environment is essential before your de-stressed brain can absorb new information. Rest and respite from daily outside triggers.
Stage 2: Once you feel comfortable within yourself, getting to know each other and getting to the heart-of-the-matter takes place. Education through various forms of media and group communication, with one-to-one sessions, to help you understand exactly why and how you acquired a stress-disorder.
Our groups are small and non-threatening. We believe Trust and Honesty are the cornerstones of recovery. These fundamental core values are achieved when someone feels safe and secure. This happens when there is no perceived 'fear'. The neurobiology of happiness and the brains' 'safety circuit' influences motivation and reward. By respecting, listening to and caring for our clients, Affinity Lodge allows learning and change to occur within each individuals personality.
Stage 3: going within, beyond the personality and learnt behaviour. Us humans are extremely complex beings! Affinity Lodge gives you an oppurtunity to discover who and what you truly are. A profound change of consciousness and the tools to maintain a New You. The connection to something other than people, places and things, is a very personal perception. Through information and discussion we explore the infinite ways to obtain contentment of mind (thoughts), body (feelings), and sense of self (spiritual).
